During the course of 2015, we will be undertaking a new project at Estudio Campana.
Mariposa 2015, will record the Life Cycle of two species of butterflies being bred in captivity.
are Papilio machaon and Monarch - Monarca.
In order to produce the butterflies, we will have
two small greenhouses; one for plants and early stages of the life cycle and the other for the adult butterflies.
The first stage to grow the required plants; Hinojo ( Fennel) ( Foeniculum
vulgare ) and Asclepia ( Milkweed ) ( Apocynaceae ) commenced on 21st January 2015 with Vilma Pereira planting the seeds for both
varieties of plants.
Each stage of the life cycle during
the next 5/6 months, depending on climate, will be photographed or filmed and recorded on this website page.
Please return to this page frequently to view production from eggs
to caterpillars; caterpillars to pupa ( crysalis stage ) and then to the adult butterflies.
